Nikon has announced the launch of the new Nikon D90 digital SLR. An update to the popular D80 model, this camera features 12.3 megapixel 'DX' format CMOS sensor and new 'D-Movie' HD movie function - the final frontier for digital SLRs.
Key features of the new model include:
Nikon claims that the larger, SLR-sized sensor in the camera is a significant advantage for the D90 D-Movie feature, resulting in far less noise than traditional camcorders.
Street pricing on the Nikon D90 is around $1399 for body only (with Australian warranty - not grey import). Stock is expected by the beginning of October. Nikon has not announced the availability of any lens kit bundles for this model, at this time.
Not to be outdone, Canon has announced the new EOS 50D. More information here.
